Many charitable Trusts are keen to support medical research but may feel they lack the expertise necessary to assess applications for funding and to make sure that their funds are being used to best effect. Routing funding through Tenovus Scotland takes advantage of our rigorous peer-review process that assesses all projects and ensures that only the best are funded, so individual Trusts can know that their money is being well spent.
Trusts can give money for general use within the Tenovus Scotland programme, or, if preferred, can see details of projects that we intend to fund and pick one (or more) for targeted funding. There are opportunities to meet with the researchers of any targeted projects and the final report of any targeted project will also be shared with you.
If you are a Trustee of a Trust that would be interested in supporting the work of Tenovus Scotland, or if you know of a Trust that might be interested, please contact our General Secretary by email at Enable JavaScript to view protected content.or by phone on 0141 221 6268.
The funding of pilot studies allows ideas to be developed to the point where they can be funded at a national level, driving forward understanding and also the careers of new research scientists.
