TENOVUS SCOTLAND Grampian Research Symposium 22 August 2019

This symposium will showcase the excellent biomedical research that Tenovus Grampian has supported in the region and will feature plenary lectures by Professor Mirela Delibegovich and Dr Mhairi McLean. There will also be presentations from recipients of the prestigious Tenovus Moulton Barrett Scholarships and small project grants.  Find more details here and, if you wish to attend the symposium, please register here.

The main symposium will be followed by a Public Lecture by Professor Dana Dawson on her world-leading research into "Broken Heart Syndrome".  Takotsubo cardiomyopathy is a temporary condition that commonly occurs in post-menopausal women and arises when the heart muscles are suddenly weakened due to intense emotional or physical stress, such as the death of a loved one or constant anxiety.  Dana will talk about her research looking into the long-term outcomes for patients who have been diagnosed with Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy.  More details can be found here and registration for the public lecture can be made here.
